Brian Brown

Brian Brown joined Western Digital in early 2017 as the Director of Product Management for the Platforms Business Unit of Western Digital. He leads the product definition and planning for Western Digital’s storage platforms business. His focus is on the expansion of the Platforms portfolio to meet the global demand for increasing levels of storage capacity and performance – while improving the energy efficiency and total cost of ownership. 

Prior to joining Western Digital, Brian was employed by Emerson Network Power for nearly seven (7) years with responsibility for the Services Division P&L, Product Management and Product Marketing functions associated with the Embedded Computing and Power businesses. He was deeply involved with new product initiatives targeted at very large accounts including global enterprise cloud services accounts and companies such as Dell, AT&T and Verizon.   

Before joining Emerson, Brian was SVP of Global Field Operations at Continuous Computing with responsibilities encompassing Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Field Engineering. Brian was also SVP at Optical Solutions, a highly successfully FTTH (fiber to the home) start-up company, for more than four (4) years where he led global field operations (Sales, Product Management, Services, Business Development). He also spent 15 years with Alcatel ($10B in sales) in positions of increasing global responsibility.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelors in Business from Western Illinois University and both MBA and JD degrees from DePaul University
